A new home and the future of AxisCommunity Meetings

After two successful events at Scruffy's we have searched far and wide to find a long term home fit for our socials and events. We are most excited to announce that our fledgling but growing community has a new meet-up home. Yes we can reveal that a deal has been done with our friends (and fellow community members) Nottingham Playhouse theatre. The Playhouse, a key cultural and creative hub/venue is located just off Maid Marion way in Nottingham City Centre have won the prestigious honour of hosting the coolest social network in existence through being just top people, existing citizens, and having a cool vibey venue that really quite suits the AxisCommunity creatives / businesses / techheads / entrepreneurs membership.

New events and line-up for this coming year.

'AxisGathering' - These are the big must-attend events on for all active community members. It’s a celebration of citizen’s achievements, our awards evening, and social on one. It will feature a meal (subsidised by AxisCentre) and drinks and optional late bar. This will be held three times a year, one roughly on our birthday ie Oct, then Feb and June. This next one is our third and our birthday. See below.

'AxisInformals' – Regular monthly meet-up and outstanding opportunity to get together for a couple of hours with fellow community creatives, entrepreneurs, tech-heads etc in a social environment. Part networking, part trend watching, part sharing ideas and helping each other, these will be most unlike all other ‘networking’ or business meet-ups.

Informal is a new term derived from info & informal - and describes the sharing of info within a limited group in a very informal setting using informal methods. ‘Led’ variously by leading citizens, and outsiders we think have something to contribute and supported by AxisCentre staff. To be held at the private bar at Nottingham Playhouse these will either be a be fun underground club, and at best you just might be looking at the future of business networking. Dates and details to be announced shortly, stand by.

Next event – our first birthday party! - AxisGathering 1.0 will be our first event to be held at The Playhouse , date just being finalised now for somewhere around mid November. Those more observant and original citizens will notice this is late by about 2 months. We know this. Full details to be announced by this weekend. Watch this space.
